MedEdPORTAL, the Journal for Teaching and Learning Resources of the Association of American Medical Colleges, peer reviews and publishes educational resources. Its recent acceptance into MEDLINE for indexing solidified its position as a premier venue for health science educators who teach medical and dental learners and wish to publish and disseminate their educational projects. The IAMSE community is uniquely situated to make significant contributions to the literature base of high-quality, peer-reviewed educational resources. Because MedEdPORTAL's publications count toward promotion processes, helping IAMSE members understand how to present their educational innovations as scholarship is critical to their career development. The process of submitting to MedEdPORTAL requires an Educational Summary Report (ESR), which is structured like a traditional research manuscript. However, developing a manuscript through the lens of educational scholarship may require more guidance in how the work is presented. This workshop, led by the Editor-in-Chief and two associate editors of MedEdPORTAL, is designed to provide hands-on experience with evaluating and revising a draft of an ESR to submit to MedEdPORTAL. Participant will be asked to identify a teaching/learning resource potentially submittable to MedEdPORTAL and bring related materials to the conference. We will also solicit a MedEdPORTAL submission from an IAMSE member to submit their draft ESR for public critique.
