Bio
Dr. Nath is a Professor at the TCU and UNT HSC School of Medicine. After earning his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto (U of T), Canada, Dr. Nath did his fellowship in the U of T-affiliated teaching hospitals and Ontario Public Health Laboratories toward licensure to practice of Clinical Microbiology. His academic/professional journey (beginning in 1987) has taken him from Hamilton Civic Hospitals and McMaster University in Canada to LECOM College of Osteopathic Medicine/School of Pharmacy at Bradenton, FL, and more recently to ARCOM. In between, he has spent 5 years each at AUC School of Medicine and at UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX. This journey has taken him through a variety of academic positions and roles: PBL Tutor at School of Medicine at McMaster University; Course Director of Microbiology at the U.T. Southwestern (UTSW) Medical School, Dallas, TX; PBL Curriculum Developer/Facilitator in LECOM Bradenton, to name a few.

During 3 decades of teaching, he has received multiple AMSA Golden Apple Awards & Outstanding Medical Teacher awards, and has served on numerous university, college and national medical educators committees. His enthusiasm and passion to aid the learners and educators shape his innovative ideas and development of enduring educational materials.

He is a primary author of Problem based Microbiology (PBM; a creator of a new series of medical texts) while at the UTSW. The PBM book is considered by peers as “skillfully presented Clinical Case Studies of Microbiology”. He has authored and organized the bridge text in “an intuitive and logical fashion that promotes mental association of key concepts and subsequent long-term retention. It uniquely fosters active learning by guiding the reader to generate an intelligent differential from obviously meticulously constructed vignettes. The book perfectly strikes the necessary balance between depth and brevity that pre-clinical medical resources often struggle with.”

Dr. Nath’s enthusiasm and passion to aid the learners and educators shape his educational activities and innovation of tools/methods, empowering the students to pursue life-long learning.
