Nancy P. Moreno, PhD, MS, is Professor and Chair of the newly formed Department of Education, Innovation & Technology at Baylor College of Medicine. Trained as a biologist, she has devoted most of her career to science and health education. Her funded research has included development of interdisciplinary science educational materials, creation of local school and national partnerships to promote systemic change in STEM teaching and learning, and application of web-based technologies for educator support and professional development. Many of these efforts have been directed toward improving student access at all levels to STEM and health professions career pathways. She is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and in 2010 received the Barbara and Corbin J. Robertson, Jr. Presidential Award for Excellence in Education, Baylor’s most prestigious award for faculty educational contributions.
