Alana D. Newell, PhD, MEd, is Assistant Professor of Education, Innovation & Technology at Baylor College of Medicine. She specializes in measurement, quantitative methods and learning sciences, and her primary faculty role is as evaluator of federally funded curriculum and professional development programs, including development of assessment tools and data analysis. She is co-Director of Baylor's Master Teacher Fellowship Program (two-year educator development program) and leads faculty development sessions on active learning and backwards curriculum design. She has curriculum expertise from her role in the development of Baylor's teamwork skills initiative and doctoral studies at the University of Houston.
