The workshop will use a small group active discussion format. Participants will be provided with an advance reading assignment prior to the conference. Groups of participants will practice reviewing sections of an actual research manuscript and discuss:

1. the types of comments that are needed;
2. strategies by which to provide constructive feedback; and
3. challenges for both author and associate editors. 

At the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

1. Constructively review an educational research/scholarship paper for Medial Science Educator (MSE). 
2. Analyze diverse reviewer’s comments on the paper and make a decision as to the next step for the paper.
3. Critique the author’s response to reviewer’s comments to determine if author responded appropriately.
