Description

The use of predictive analytics in medical education has been increasingly embraced by graduate medical education since about 2015. For the last three years, there has been a pre-conference workshop on predictive analytics in residency education on the day prior to the International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE), the annual education conference for the Royal Council of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. This conference draws about 2500 – 3000 people each year, and the registration for the pre-conference workshop is about 70 people. Undergraduate medical education has no such gathering of researchers in this area.

Based on advances in the field of predictive analytics in medical education, this will be a part of osteopathic medical education in the future. While Educating Leaders, the AACOM Annual Conference, seemed like a logical first choice for hosting this pre-conference, attendance at this conference does not reach faculty at MD schools.
