Bio
Cynthia Nebel is a Lecturer in the Leadership and Learning in Organizations Ed.D. program at Vanderbilt University. She earned her Ph.D. in the Brain, Behavior, and Cognition program at Washington University in St. Louis and has served as Assistant Chair of Psychology at Lindenwood University and Associate Professor of Psychology at Washburn University. Cindy has broad interests in human learning and memory and applying the science of learning to educational contexts. Her research has focused on transfer of knowledge through retrieval practice and individual differences. Cindy’s work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, & Cognition and the Journal of Applied Research in Memory & Cognition. Cindy has presented the science of learning at regional and national conferences in the US, as well as abroad at several schools and conferences of educators in the UK. Cindy is also passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice in education. In an effort to promote more conversations between researchers and practitioners, she is an active collaborator of The Learning Scientists.
