Dr S Marshall Angle Jr received his PhD in Educational Psychology, Research, and Foundations from the University of South Carolina with emphases on research methods, data analyses, program evaluation, and assessment. In addition to his present role in medical education, he has directed a number of federally-funded projects (e.g., Teaching American History in South Carolina: A Statewide Approach to Teacher Professional Development, Mars Hill College Title III, and Mars Hill College Upward Bound). Currently, Dr Angle serves as Associate Dean for Evaluation and Assessment for the Mercer University school of Medicine. His professional interests include standard setting, quality improvement, and supporting persistence of potentially at-risk students.
