Bio
Amy Stickford Becker, MA, is the Director of Longitudinal Curriculum and Instruction for the MD Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (UWSMPH). She is a former K-12 science teacher and completed her master’s degree in Education Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her graduate work focused on effective professional development models for educators and included work on a National Science Foundation grant for inquiry-based science curriculum. For the past 15 years, Amy has worked with UWSMPH in a variety of roles with a focus on improving teaching and learning. Amy’s more recent accomplishments include a leadership role in the creation and implementation of a new competency-based MD curriculum and development of a Path of Distinction in Medical Education that includes teaching electives focused on learning science, curriculum design, teaching methodologies and inclusive learning. Her interests include teacher development, curricular quality assurance and innovation, and curriculum development.
