Audrey Vasauskas, PhD serves as the Director of Research and Grant Development at the Alabama
College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM). Dr. Vasauskas received her PhD from the University of South
Alabama College of Medicine in the departments of Pharmacology and Comparative Medicine and her
BS in Biology from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland. She is passionate about all things
research, especially helping others make their research dreams come true! While her own research
interests span from yoga and wellness to physiology, her NIH-funded research focuses primarily on the
health of the pulmonary endothelium. Dr. Vasauskas is a registered RYT-200 yoga teacher with the Yoga
Alliance and has been teaching yoga continuously for the past 15 years, both nationally and
internationally. She is also certified in chair yoga and children’s yoga and is a Christina Phipps
Foundation-certified yoga instructor allowing her to offer classes for cancer patients and survivors. She
avidly promotes the benefits of yoga for anyone and everyone and offers free weekly yoga classes for
ACOM students.
