Edward C. Klatt, MD is Professor of Pathology at Mercer University School of Medicine. He has been involved in aspects of health care delivery for over 60 years. He has been involved with health science education for over 48 years. Dr. Klatt created and continues to develop one of the oldest World Wide Web internet sites, WebPath, in pathology education for over 27 years. He has been involved with informatics and medical education for over four decades. He is currently involved in curriculum design, development, and deployment for the undergraduate medical education program. He is the author for 4 of the 8 reference works in the Robbins & Cotran series of pathology texts used worldwide for pathology education in the health sciences. He facilitated development of a Patient Based Curriculum with emphasis on integration of clinical and basic science content in an active learning environment. He has developed teaching materials deployed in multiple active learning, team settings: problem-based learning, case-based learning, and team-based learning. He facilitated the creation of a wellness curriculum. His focus is on facilitating advancement of medical education with information management and critical thinking with effective communication through a team-based approach.
