Jason Adam Wasserman is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, where he also holds a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics. His work focuses on integrating social science into clinical medicine, as well as issues of health and homelessness. His published innovations in qualitative data analysis have been heavily cited, as well as covered in leading textbooks and reprinted in a research methods anthology. He has published numerous articles in journals such as Qualitative Research, Social Science and Medicine, Hastings Center Report, American Journal of Bioethics, and JAMA-Pediatrics. His recent book Social and Behavioral Science for Health Professionals was published in 2017 by Rowman and Littlefield. He also wrote At Home on the Street: People, Poverty, and a Hidden Culture of Homelessness (2010), a four-year ethnographic study of the street homeless and directed the documentary film American Refugees: Homelessness in Four Movements (2011).
