Dr. Haidet has been an advocate for active learning strategies in education for 25 years. He has won numerous teaching awards, including the National Award for Lifetime Achievements in Education from the Society of General Internal Medicine, named a “Titan of TBL” from the Team-Based Learning Collaborative, the Lynn Payer Award from the Academy of Communication in Healthcare, and the 2011 Master Scholar Award from the International Association of Medical Science Educators. He has been at the forefront of using his lifelong interest in jazz as an entrée into building skills for improvisation in teaching and medical practice.
