Name
FS: Creating Autodidactic AI-Enhanced Courses in Medical Education
Description

Session Coordinator: Amanda Chase

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly advancing field that is already impacting both medical education and medical practice. Medical educators are actively exploring the use of AI technology to enhance medical school curricular content. Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) has made the decision to embrace the use of AI technology among both students and faculty. Currently, learners at BMC are using generative AI technology in a variety of applications including both the Problem-Based Learning program and elective courses. This Focus Session will provide a hands-on introduction to AI, along with additional tools and resources that will enable participants to create AI-based additions to their medical school curricula.

By the end of this Focus Session, participants will:

1) Increase their knowledge of generative AI platforms

2) Create/initiate an AI medical education mini-project

3) Identify potential AI collaborators among attendees
