Sarah is an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Professions Physician Assistant Program at Baylor College of Mediicne with a broad background in the science of teaching and learning, the scholarship of education, mentorship, primary care, health and wellness coaching, and lifestyle medicine (LM). The thrust of her career overall has been to layer and integrate concepts related to behavioral health and wellness with pursuit of whole person engagement and transcendence in learning, autonomy, and self-efficacy for students, faculty, and patients. She is interested in and motivated to learn and apply concepts from LM into medical education and student and faculty wellness and is board certified as a Diplomate of Lifestyle Medicine by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She worked as the principal investigator on a five-year Health Services and Resources Administration to incorporate LM into PA education at BCM. She earned her doctorate in education at A.T. Still University with a doctoral research project focused on the well-being of medical educators.
