Bio
Dan Rogstad completed an MD and a PhD in Biochemistry at Loma Linda University (LLU) in 2009, with an emphasis on DNA damage and repair mechanisms. While completing residency/fellowship in Internal Medicine/Infectious Diseases at Mayo Clinic, Rochester (2009-2015), he was also a post-doctoral fellow for 2 years in the lab of Eric Poeschla, studying restriction factors in FIV and envelope evolution in HIV. He is currently an attending physician in Infectious Diseases at Loma Linda University Medical Center, with a clinical focus on Coccidioidomycosis, and serves LLU School of Medicine as Associate Dean, Basic Science Education, in which he oversees the pre-clinical curriculum and teaches biochemistry and pharmacology. He has a passion for guiding learners into deep, mechanistic understanding of pathophysiologic processes, and trusts that this will improve patient care.
