Health Professions Educators are grappling with AI’s impact on education. For effective education, we will have to reach a stage in which we form partnerships with AI systems, and move forward harmoniously and symbiotically. But education does not exist in a vacuum, and our perceptions of AI, the social dynamics of AI, and our knowledge and recognition of AI’s changing nature and status will all play a role.  This address will raise and discuss these issues so that we can reflect upon them, and then use this reflection to allow us to proceed with what will be a difficult journey, but one that leads to effective and valuable education.
