Description

Curriculum design in the health sciences is iterative, collaborative, and often painfully slow. Faculty and course directors juggle learning objectives, content gaps, accreditation requirements, and assessment, usually across spreadsheets, documents, and committee meetings. What if an AI assistant could help accelerate the key stages of curriculum design?

This session demonstrates how faculty can use a purpose-built AI tool to move from a set of learning objectives to structured, modular curriculum content. Integral to this process is mapping topics to frameworks, and generating objective-aligned assessments that faculty can review, revise, and make their own. Presenters will walk through real examples of how this workflow supports course planning and curricular integration, with an emphasis on the decisions that remain firmly in faculty hands: what to teach, how to sequence it, and how to assess it. The session closes with a discussion on where AI-assisted curriculum design adds genuine value and where it introduces new challenges that educators will need to identify and manage.
