Jacob M. Shivley, DVM, MS, is an Associate Clinical Professor and Service Chief of Shelter Medicine at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Shivley developed the Competence–Efficiency–Confidence (CEC) framework, a model that supports learner adaptability and growth in high-stakes clinical environments.
