I have been using TBL to teach biomedical science graduate students since 2006. Topics include immunology, genetics, cell biology, responsible conduct of research (RCR), patient safety, clinical ethics, health systems & disparities, medical genetics, and medical physiology. I led an educational research project that found that, in contrast to lecture-based RCR courses, which have negative impact on ethical decision-making, a TBL curriculum for RCR training led to positive impact on ethical decision-making. I have conducted numerous TBL workshops locally at the University of Florida, at many other educational institutions, and at national and international conferences. I am a past-President of the TBLC, and continue to serve the Steering Committee as an Expert Consultant.
