This interactive workshop will explore aspects of cognitive diversity as it relates to adaption-innovation theory. Focus will be placed on learning how each of us prefers to solve problems, which is independent of intelligence, learned skills, motivation, values, culture, and ethnicity. Will discuss how you think, and how to work with others who think differently than you. Learning objectives include: • Identify connections between problem-solving style, cognitive diversity, and science of teams. • Develop best practices for working with individuals who think more adaptively or more innovatively. • Justify guidelines for helping science teams deliver desired results. Will conclude with recommendations on resolving the five cognitive gaps found in team science.
