Speakers
Description
In 2005, Ruth Wageman and Richard Hackman published “Toward a Theory of Team Coaching in Academy of Management Review. They found a rapidly growing professional practice of team development well out ahead of a nascent scholarly literature about interventions that help teams. In this talk, Wageman will explore three standout themes in team effectiveness scholarship and practice: (1) The distinction between features that affect team performance and those that make solid leverage points for change; (2) scholarly attraction to mediated/moderated causal models vs. equifinality in practice; and (3) the under-studied role of timing in how to make a difference in team performance, growth, and wellbeing.
