Description

Pure Edge knows that the most effective change happens when educators champion and model mental health awareness and well-being strategies themselves. We have worked extensively with districts and state agencies to shift their approach to SEL by focusing on adults first. As a result of district, school-level leadership, and educator support, we have witnessed first hand the transformation and results. Educators feel valued when leadership makes their well-being a priority. This workshop focuses on educator self-care and social-emotional learning (SEL) through the lens of the CASEL competencies. Participants will learn simple and effective strategies to alleviate stress and to calm overstimulated minds. They will learn the importance of self-care, specifically in their role as educators and explore the interconnectedness of their own well-being as it relates to the SEL competencies of Self-Awareness and Self-Management. This session further examines educator stress and its effect on the body and nervous system and introduces the neuroscience behind why Brain Breaks are effective tools for stress management and self-regulation.
