Formal pedagogy is changing rapidly. This has been accelerated by the restrictions imposed by COVID19 over the last couple of years, which led to the rapid deployment of emergency learning methods (primarily virtual classrooms) and flipped classrooms. At EnMed, a series of ~45 blended TBL sessions, through the inclusion of faculty from engineering, clinical and basic sciences, were designed and successfully deployed to train the next generation of ‘physicaneers’ during their pre-clerkship courses. The workshop will discuss the strategies used during the development and the lessons learned during the implementation process. We will also provide an active, hands-on session of one such engineering-blended medically relevant TBL.
