Grounded in learner-centered principles of backward design (Michaelsen & Sweet, 2008), Team-Based Learning (TBL) activities prepare learners for their futures. For learners to achieve success across a wide variety of academic, workforce, and healthcare contexts, it is critical that instructors look beyond content knowledge and disciplinary skills alone and plan instruction that supports the development of Career Readiness Competencies (NACE, 2021), as well. TBL can be used to foster Career & Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Technology. The purpose of this workshop is to support instructors in explicitly connecting learning experiences with the development of these skills in meaningful ways.
