The AAC&U VALUE Rubrics were developed to evaluate student learning. They use performance descriptors from benchmark to capstone that identify a basic framework of expectations on the part of the student to demonstrate proficiency in that outcome. It is useful to combine these rubrics with Bloom’s taxonomy as we design learning experiences and assessments.

We will engage in TBL application exercises that focus on important decisions we face as we design course material to improve our students’ ability to become sound thinkers using 4 of these VALUE Rubrics, namely, problem-solving, engaging in inquiry and analysis, critical thinking, and creative thinking.
