Name
Plenary: Opening the Door: Small Wins for Inclusive TBL Design
Description

Across learning environments, there is a growing desire to make teaching more inclusive, to open the door a little wider for every learner. But alongside that desire comes a familiar weight: rising accommodation requests, expanding learner diversity, and uncertainty about how to redesign without sacrificing the foundations of TBL. This plenary acknowledges that weight and offers a way to carry it differently, with a solutions oriented outlook that honors both the commitment to support every learner and the barriers that can make inclusive design feel out of reach.

Drawing on Universal Design for Learning, the Social Model of Disability, and insights from survey data, we will explore high impact strategies that make TBL accessible for all learners. Together, we will consider how intentional choices about multimodal materials, transparent timing, and flexible pathways expand participation and deepen engagement in TBL.

This session steps you through a small wins path toward inclusive TBL design that is both doable and transformative.
