Eric Gantwerker, MD, MS, MMSc(MedEd), FACS, AFAMEE is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist at Cohen Children's Hospital at Northwell Health/Hofstra, Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He holds a Master of Medical Science (MMSc) in Medical Education with a special focus on educational technology, educational research, cognitive science of learning, and curriculum development from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University.

He has a special interest in faculty development and has been a speaker, conference panelist, or faculty at over 50 local, 20 regional, 100 national, and 22 international workshops, courses, and conferences. He is also an active blogger and podcaster for several organizations including the Harvard Macy Institute (HMI), Harvard Medical School CME Online, BackTable Innovations and several others. He has contributed to over 30 blogs and podcasts. He has been featured in the news in print and through live interviews over 25 times including USA Today, Businesswire, The Washington Post, Nature Medicine, Fox News, and KevinMD.

He also works as the medical director of a medical video game company, Level Ex, that utilizes game technology and psychology to create interactive educational experiences for healthcare professionals. He oversees all the medical and educational functions of the company including strategy, design and development, and efficacy studies.

Through all his endeavors, he is recognized nationally and internationally as an up-and-coming expert on the implementation of educational technologies and gaming, motivational theory, the cognitive psychology of learning, and putting theory into practice for health professions education. In recognition, he was awarded Associate Membership in the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Academy of Master Surgeon Educators program and is an Associate Fellow of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE).
