This course is an overview of FEMA's new TB1 (March 2020) and NFIP regulations, Risk Rating 2.0 (2021), the
Elevation Certificate and identifying flood mitigation opportunities and impacts on NFIP premium. It will provide relevant details on FEMA's new TB1, NFIP's Risk Rating 2.0 and case studies that illustrate how the elevation certificate, flood openings, freeboard and other flood mitigation steps that can affect flood insurance costs. Participants will have a better understanding on how the Elevation Certificate should be completed, correctly, and more accurately, which will improve their residents flood insurance premiums and ensure a flood resilient structure is built. The program will also review FEMATB3 regulations on Active and Passive dry flood mitigation solutions for non-residential, mixed use and shoreline defense applications including FEMA's Dry Floodproofing Certificate requirements.
