Ed Nicholson graduated from Virginia Tech in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and started his career with Columbia Gas Transmission (now part of TC Energy) in the Civil Engineering Group. He spent 27 years doing surveying and engineering work for interstate pipeline projects, including pipeline route selection and surveys, gas well locations and boundary surveys. He worked for four years in the Pipeline Integrity Group on HCA identification and evaluation, PHMSA compliance issues and pipeline integrity assessments. From 2013 until his retirement last December he was a Project Manager for pipeline construction projects. He is on the Board of the Association of Professional Pipeline Surveyors (APPS) and was involved in the organization’s creation. Ed is a Professional Surveyor in KY, MD, OH, TN, VA and WV and a Professional Engineer in VA and WV.
