The surveyor plays a large and distinct role in the National Flood Insurance Program’s (NFIP) ability to properly maintain the quality of flood mapping. LOMC’s are the method flood maps are updated to match the true situation on the ground. There are many aspects to correctly supplying the information required to make these alterations. This presentation will cover the proper forms, when to use which as well as the information that is being requested on those forms. A number of true life case studies resolving flood issues utilizing these forms are included with many pointers and lessons learned from years of mistakes made by the presenter.
