Knud Hermansen
Bio
Knud E. Hermansen is an attorney, professional engineer, and professional land surveyor licensed in several states. His education includes a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. (Doctorate in Law) from West Virginia University. Knud is a professor emeritus at the University of Maine and operates a consulting firm offering surveying, engineering, and legal services. Professional membership includes the National Society of Professional Surveyors, National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, and several state survey societies. He is an author or coauthor of several books and articles found at https://umaine.edu/svt/faculty/hermansen-articles/

James Shaw
Bio
James M. Shaw, Jr. is a Maryland Licensed Professional Land Surveyor with over 30 years of experience. He is a contributing writer for xyHt Magazine, a frequent speaker on surveying and geospatial matters in the Mid-Atlantic region and has been a guest speaker several times on the NSPS Radio Hour. Mr. Shaw serves on the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS) Board of Directors as Chair of the Technology Committee and as the Liaison to MSGIC. He is an MSS Past-President (2013-2014) and the 2012 MSS Surveyor of the Year. Currently, he is employed by JMT - Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. as a Reality Capture Manager, providing services including mobile LiDAR and imagery, airborne LiDAR and imagery, 3D laser scanning, and UAS imagery. He has an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate for commercial Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS).

Mr. Westfall is a licensed professional surveyor that has been surveying since 1998, and has been laser scanning since 2012. He has extensive experience providing surveying and scanning services across the nation to support large scale geospatial, GIS, civil, architectural, energy generation, transmission, and logistics fulfillment/distribution projects.
