Dr. Talmon is a Professor in the Department of Pathology an Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, NE, specializing in gastrointestinal, renal, liver, and transplant pathology. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at UNMC, a fellowship in surgical pathology and the Mayo Clinic, and am currently obtaining a Master of Education in Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Talmon serves as the Department’s Vice Chair of Medical Education, program director for the pathology residency program, director of the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators, program co-chair for UNMC Master in Health Professions Teaching and Technology Program, and co-leader of the preclinical phase of the medical school curriculum.

As residency director, Dr. Talmon has been involved in the creation of multiple new educational programs. These have included curricula in laboratory management, billing, advocacy, and communication and the development of online tools such as a wiki for residents to use on call, an electronic electron microscopy course. In addition he has been extensively involved in pathology teaching to other groups of students including a pathology course that I created and have taught for the last 5 years for the UNMC High School Alliance. This is the only course of its kind in the country, successfully teaching high school juniors and seniors basic pathology concepts (material typically not encountered until professional schools).

Dr. Talmon has received the Golden Apple Award for excellence in medical student education for 5 consecutive years (elected to the “Hall of Fame”), the College of Medicine Basic Science Outstanding Teaching Award, and the Hirschmann Prize for outstanding teaching. He also serves as the president of the Group for Research in Pathology Education, the Nebraska Association of Pathologists, and chair of the American Society of Clinical Pathology’s Fellow Council.

Dr. Rashidi is a board certified Hematopathologist with an extensive background in informatics and medical education. His bioinformatics background dates back to his graduate school years in the 90s (prior to entering medical school). That experience and expertise enabled me to co-author several popular textbooks in bioinformatics along with now being actively involved in developing several machine learning tools and platforms that him and his colleagues are using for their respective studies. In addition he has also been very successful in publishing several very popular digital tools (including several Apps) in the medical education/hematology arena that are now used worldwide. His background and experiences gives him a great perspective of how to convey this knowledge to those interested in the technology arena.

Dr. Singh is an Associate Professor in Dermatology and Pathology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, New York. He directs the Immunodermatology Section and is the Director for the Fellowship program in Dermatopathology. He graduated from Baroda Medical College in India and completed his pathology residency both in India and at Wayne State University in the States. He completed his fellowship in dermatopathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston in 2007. He is board eligible for Clinical Informatics. Dr. Singh has served on various committees both at the University of Pittsburgh and at Mt. Sinai as well as national societies such as the ASDP and CAP. Dr. Singh has delivered national and international invited presentations in his field. He is the author or coauthor of various book chapters, articles and abstracts published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as the 4th edition of the WHO book on Skin and Gastrointestinal tumors. He is the Recipient of the ‘Teacher of the Year Award’ at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine for 5 consecutive years. Dr. Singh is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, College of American Pathologists, American Society of Dermatopathology, and has served as the Chair of the American Society of Dermatopathology Informatics Committee. He is a reviewer for Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology Histopathology, and Pathology Research International. In 2013, he was awarded the Sulzberger Grant from the American Academy of Dermatology for developing interactive tools for teaching of dermatology and dermatopathology. He is the Editor, creator and developer of the app, mydermpath+ and creator of two educational platforms-wiydx.com and PathPresenter.com. He also serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the WHO for Classification of tumors, 5th Edition.

Julie K Hewett, owner of JulNet Solutions, is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Management. She has over 30 years of office management experience working with small organizations in the services and manufacturing industries. This broad work experience allowed Julie to develop JulNet Solutions, offering management support services to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and eventually professional non-profit associations. One of the strengths of JulNet Solutions in supporting association is the use and promotion of social media campaigns. Since 2013 Julie has been involved in GRIPE for Association Management and Meeting Planning.
