Dr. Clemons earned her PhD in Biochemistry from Meharry Medical College in 2003 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Emory University. She currently teaches in both the Dental School and Medical School at Meharry Medical College, as well as serve as course director in both the dental and medical school. One highlight of the experiences that Dr. Clemons is gaining as an Assistant Professor is being a small group leader and facilitator for the Colloquium course, which is part of the new curriculum at Meharry Medical College. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Clemons also manages a $300,000 research initiation grant that she was awarded from the National Science Foundation. Prior to her appointment at Meharry Medical College, Dr. Clemons taught Biochemistry at Spelman College and prior to her appointment at Spelman College Dr. Clemons taught Biochemistry in the Department of Biomedical Science at the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine.
