Brittany L. Burns earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Sam Houston State University in 2018. During pursuit of her undergraduate degree, she served as a teaching assistant for the department of biological sciences, teaching Introductory to Microbiology lab, Introductory to Cellular Biology, and Contemporary Biology labs. Additionally, she conducted research on the phenotypic and genotypic expression of antibiotic resistance of Salmonella strains. She now attends Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she serves as a teaching assistant for the Department of Osteopathic Principles and Practice
