Jonan Donaldson is a learning scientist with a position as a postdoctoral research associate in the Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University where he is leading the development of the new Innovation and Design for Exploration and Analysis in Teaching Excellence (IDEATE) program for scholarship of teaching and learning. He has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Learning Technology from Drexel University. He has taught online courses in education, technology, learning experience design, and critical pedagogy at Drexel University, Oregon State University, Western Oregon University, and other higher education institutions. His specialties include constructionist learning, critical pedagogy, epistemic learning, design thinking, and creativity. His current research involves using theory and methods from the learning sciences, complex systems theory, and linguistics to investigate the relationship between conceptualizations of learning and practices in teaching and learning.
