Bio
Dr. Nagaraj Gabbur graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and subsequently entered Ob/Gyn Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. After residency he remained at Downstate and served as the 3rd year ObGyn Clerkship Director for 15 years as well as Associate Program Director. In 2017, he left Downstate to become the Ob/Gyn Program Director for the Hofstra Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell Health Residency Program at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York where he oversees 42 residents and 5 fellowship programs.
Dr. Gabbur is also a graduate of the APGO Scholars and Leaders Program and has had over 200 national educational presentations at conferences such as AAMC, NRMP, CREOG, APGO and ACOG. He is the past Chair for The Generalists in Medical Education and also serves as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Ob/Gyn. Currently, he is the Immediate National Past Char for the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Educational Affairs (GEA), the largest volunteer educational group in the United States. In this role is he currently the Director for The CLASS Project and NEXT STEP1 Project, that has engaged over 500 educators across the country.
