Description
Objectives of the workshop:
- Participants will identify and describe how to apply key components of a rigorous quantitative research study (e.g., research paradigm, theoretical frameworks).
- Participants will explain the components of a quantitative research study that align with typical critical appraisal tools, including: the research question, study design, analytic approach, explanation of findings, and appropriateness of conclusions.
- Participants will apply and interpret basic descriptive and inferential statistics.
- This basic skills workshop for health professions educators introduces key considerations for quantitative research, guides critical appraisal of existing studies, and provides hands-on practice in applying and interpreting common statistical analyses.
