Description

Purpose
Medical students often prepare for board exams independently over extended periods, facing challenges with motivation, accountability, and efficient study strategies. To address these needs, we developed an evidence-based program to provide structured support and guidance. This abstract outlines the program’s framework and its potential impact on student outcomes.

Methods
Our approach integrates insights from over 200 student survey responses, employing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Using fuzzy set-theoretical methods, we analyze content resource data and practice test metrics to identify multiple causal pathways to success in medical board exams. Students participate in a no-cost, hybrid (in-person and virtual) "Boards Bootcamp," facilitated by learning specialists and advanced medical students. This program operates independently of faculty involvement.

Results
Findings will inform the development of a custom GPT-powered chatbot designed to serve as a 24/7 study coach. This AI coach will offer tailored resource recommendations, daily study plans, and motivational support. The bootcamp structure includes mandatory weekly check-ins with learning specialists to enhance accountability and progress tracking.

Conclusions
Our research will identify the most effective combinations of study resources and strategies for individual students, assess the utility and satisfaction of the GPT coaching chatbot, and evaluate the impact of the bootcamp on board exam performance. This innovative approach aims to revolutionize medical board preparation by providing personalized, scalable support at zero cost to students.
