Alice Akunyili, MD is an award-winning medical academician and researcher whose expertise in curriculum design, educational technology, and teaching both students and faculty to learn the clinical relevance of basic science knowledge, has made her the ideal partner for this present integration project. Recently she was recognized by the American Association of Medicine Colleges (AAMC) Western Group on Education (WGEA) Medical Education Scholarship Research and Evaluation (MESRE) with the award for best presentation (2024) and is a Harvard-Macy scholar. Dr. Akunyili has presented and published with AMEE, IAMSE, and the AAMC, among others. She has over a decade of teaching experience in academic medicine across the learning life cycle. In addition to being a course director, she serves as the Assistant Dean of Foundational Faculty Development. Dr. Akunyili studied in Romania and Nigeria (MD).
