I have spent my academic career performing research and instructing students in the areas of molecular biology, neuroscience, hepatology, and peer-assisted learning. In my current role at Baylor College of Medicine, I am heavily involved with undergraduate medical education and have created innovative electives that incorporate active learning, and more recently artificial intelligence, into the course design. My current research pursuits within undergraduate medical education revolve around exploring novel approaches to enhance instructional design and optimize student learning.
