LaKaija Johnson, PhD MPS MPH, is the Scientist, Team Science Evaluation + Scientific Community Development for the Carbone Cancer Center. Dr. Johnson is a population health scientist, educator, and strategist with over a decade of experience leading and evaluating the implementation of strategies to build capacity and strengthen infrastructure to advance systems change in academic, government, and non-profit settings. Dr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she earned a master’s degree in Public Health, the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, where she earned a master’s degree in public service, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she earned her PhD in health promotion and disease prevention research. Dr. Johnson’s career is built on a passion for health equity and social justice that she leverages to identify opportunities to take collective action to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive research and practice environments.
