Dr. Whitney Cheung is the chief of staff and executive analyst for the Research Development Services (RDS) group in the Office of Research at the University of California, Davis. Her responsibilities include strategic planning, serving as an advisor to Associate Vice Chancellor RDS, and developing programs which catalyze interdisciplinary research activity. Whitney specializes in idea synthesis and presentation, building new collaborative partnerships, and designing resources for visual and verbal communication. She received the Chancellor’s Award for Global Engagement in 2020 for her contributions to fostering a global culture on campus and supporting international engagement opportunities for faculty, students, and staff.

Whitney holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from UC Davis with a background in regenerative medicine, and has been working in the field of research development for ten years. Outside of the office, she participates in mentoring programs for undergraduate and graduate students at UC Davis, including advising on non-traditional career paths for STEM backgrounds.
