Stephen J. Zaccaro, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychology at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. He has co-authored a wide variety of scholarly articles related to leadership, group dynamics, team performance, work attitudes, and motivation, and he co-edited 6 scholarly volumes on topics as diverse as executive leadership to psychosocial dynamics to cybersecurity. This work crosses disciplines and fields, from Psychology, to Organizational Behavior, to Computer Science. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and of the American Psychological Association, and currently serves as president of the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research (INGRoup). As evidence of the reach of his work, Dr. Zaccaro’s two scholarly volumes, one on Organizational Leadership and one on Multiteam Systems, are listed in the top 500 in organizational research categories on Amazon. His work has been cited over 34,000 times, with an h-index of 67, making Dr. Zaccaro one of the top 1% of scholars in his field. He has directed or co-directed funded research projects in the areas of multiteam systems, team performance, team mental models, leader-team interfaces, leadership training and development, leader adaptability, and executive coaching.
