Mack McCarty

Bio
Mack McCarty is a Professional Land Surveyor with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where he is the Chief of the Geospatial Section, providing all of the Huntington District needs for Surveying, Mapping, and GIS. The Huntington District Geospatial team not only provides those services to the Huntington District, but the team has also worked with sixteen other Corps Districts over the last eight years providing surveys from Virginia Beach to California and Louisiana to Libby Lake on the Canadian Border. Mack and his team have responded to multiple natural disasters over the last eight years from Hurricane response along the Gulf and Atlantic Coast to housing site surveys in Oregon following the wildfires of 2020.

Mack earned his license by examination in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and New Mexico. Mack is the only Certified Federal Surveyor (CFeDs) in the State of West Virginia. Mack has also earned his Project Management Professional credential having completed the course and examination in 2020.

Grand Canyon Survey of 19238:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This is a in depth look at the 1923 USGS Survey of the Grand Canyon led by Claude Birdseye. This was the first official survey of the Canyon and the presentation will cover the perils the crew faced during a three month period with little to no contact with the outside world while the survey was being ran. The presentation will cover the scope of the survey, methods used and the results of the survey.

This is the Ethics and Standards required for WV Professional Land Surveyors per TITLE 23, West Virginia LEGISLATIVE RULE, BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL SURVEYORS, SERIES 2, MANDATORY CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR LAND SURVEYORS. **This course has been pre-approved by the WV Board of Professional Surveyors to meet the mandatory requirement for a 2 PDH credits in minimum standards every four years**
