Assessment is the beating heart of TBL. A strength of the TBL process is the clear structure guiding educators in their assessment design while allowing freedom for creativity and discipline-specificity. However, balancing acts are still required with respect to the often-competing demands inherent in assessment design to accommodate the expectations of all stakeholders including higher education institutions, government and regulatory bodies, subject and disciplinary associations, not to mention students! The aim of this workshop is to invite participants to share different approaches to the assessment strategy when designing TBL courses and critically consider the impact of barriers and enablers on the final design
