Dr. Nahla Gomaa is a Clinical Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta (Canada), and an accomplished academic leader and researcher in medical education. Her scholarship includes impactful, peer-reviewed work across multiple domains, notably corrective feedback, value-based medical practice, and quality improvement in medical education. She is the senior author of a collaborative, nation-wide document analysis examining quality assurance in Canadian higher education, reflecting her sustained commitment to advancing educational quality and accountability at the system level.

Dr. Gomaa has been an active member of the International Team-Based Learning Collaborative (TBLC) for the past four years, contributing to the Research & Scholarship, Education, and Annual Conference Committees. In 2025, she presented “Team-Based Study on Students' Perception of Using a Chatbot in Team-Based Learning” and co-authored “AI-Crafted Application Exercises for Higher-Order Thinking in Team-Based Learning (TBL)". She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators (FAcadMEd), a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, U.K. She serves as a grant adjudicator for provincial, national, and international funding bodies, a guest editor for high-impact medical education journals, and has been invited to the Sigma Xi Distinguished Lectureship Program for 2026.
