                                                    Dr. Plunkett is an advocate of evidence-based active-learning strategies and has been using active-learning flipped classrooms in high enrolment undergraduate science courses since 2015. He has conducted training in active learning strategies—big and small—for faculty and graduate teaching assistants. Dr. Plunkett’s research interests include intrinsic motivation and mental well-being in students. His current projects include investigating pedagogical strategies as a component of the learning environment similar to the physical space. And he is a fan of jazz music
