Workshop : LiDAR
Thursday, May 26, 2022, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) is a powerful source of information for geospatial professionals. Further, a statewide LiDAR dataset for West Virginia has recently been made available for free use. This workshop will specifically explore the use of LiDAR for answering a variety of questions using tools available in ArcGIS Pro. Specific topics that will be discussed include how LiDAR data are collected, the structure and characteristics of point clouds, metadata, creating LAS Datasets, visualizing point clouds in 2D and 3D, generating raster products (e.g., DTMs, DSMs, and nDSMs), digital terrain analysis, LiDAR applications in forestry, and LiDAR applications in the urban environment.

This session will be held in Brooks Hall
