The West Virginia Society of Professional Surveyors cordially invites you to our 2023 Fall Symposium, being held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Huntington, WV on October 5-6, 2023. Our theme is focused on "Mapping the Future for the Surveying Profession." Throughout the event, you'll have the opportunity to participate in valuable continuing education seminars led by experts and thought leaders from both the state and the wider region.  Whether you attend seminars, professional development or personal connections, you won't want to miss this surveying event.

Burke Asay has been involved in the surveying and mapping industry for over 20 years. Graduating with a diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 2000, then gaining experience in land surveying and engineering projects in the private sector, before joining Leica Geosystems in 2007 to work in Software Development.

Burke transitioned to sales and support, when joining Leica Geosystems Western Canadian Geomatics dealer Spatial Technologies in 2009, before returning to work directly for Leica Geosystems in 2017 in a support and training role. Current duties are focused on Support and Training of Leica Geosystems Captivate and Infinity product lines.

Mack McCarty is a Professional Land Surveyor with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where he is the Chief of the Geospatial Section, providing all of the Huntington District needs for Surveying, Mapping, and GIS. The Huntington District Geospatial team not only provides those services to the Huntington District, but the team has also worked with sixteen other Corps Districts over the last eight years providing surveys from Virginia Beach to California and Louisiana to Libby Lake on the Canadian Border. Mack and his team have responded to multiple natural disasters over the last eight years from Hurricane response along the Gulf and Atlantic Coast to housing site surveys in Oregon following the wildfires of 2020.

Mack earned his license by examination in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and New Mexico. Mack is the only Certified Federal Surveyor (CFeDs) in the State of West Virginia. Mack has also earned his Project Management Professional credential having completed the course and examination in 2020.

Anthony Pascuzzi started surveying with his father’s construction company in 1998, ever since then he has been working in the survey industry because the technology is fun to learn. He likes finding efficient ways to collect/process data to get accurate deliverables as fast as possible. He has been with Precision Laser & Instrument since 2014. He started out as the Survey Support person and has more recently taken on the role as a salesman covering the South Western PA, Northern WV Territory. When he is not in the field working he spends his time in his woodworking shop making furniture or other small crafts.

Bio
Marshall Robinson, PS is the owner of Allegheny Surveys, Inc. of Birch River, and has practiced land surveying since he graduated from Glenville State College in 1985. He has served as a director and president of WVSPS, served two terms on the Board of Professional Surveyors, and is licensed to practice land surveying in West Virginia and four neighboring states. He has presented various seminars over the years in the boundary resolution arena, and has served as an expert witness in over 30 federal and state lawsuits. He resides in the eastern end of Clay County with his wife DeVona, and Abraham, the youngest of their three sons.
